St Lucia is situated on the North Eastern side of KwaZulu Natal South Africa. Accessible by the N2 from Durban it is a mere 2,5 hour drive north of the national freeway. St Lucia has a permanent population of approximately 800 residents, however the area can accommodate up to 5000 visitors during peak season.

The area was previously known for its incredible fishing and thus a fishing village was established. Gravel roads and thick dense bush with wildlife roaming freely was all that was to be found. Over years fortunately not much has changed, one now has tarred surfaces, franchised restaurants and numerous accommodation establishments within the area. Fortunately the bush and the wildlife have adapted and are still to found and witnessed. Hippo's still roam the streets at night in search of greener pastures not to mention the elusive Leopard that are still spotted every now and then. Bush baby calls from the trees above and duiker quietly rummaging through the rough.

Its a wildlife paradise that has established itself without the demise of what makes its truly unique.
