Ocean Commotion Fishing Charters St Lucia - How to Avoid Motion sickness

It's a common occurrence to experience motion sickness or sea sickness. Some of us unfortunately just feel a bit ill while out at sea. But that fortunately can be avoided.

Herewith are Ocean Commotions Fishing Charters' Top Tips to Avoid Sea Sickness:

  • As silly as it may sound Sleep is incredibly important the night before, get as much as possible.
  • Alcohol and the lack of sleep the night before deep sea fishing is truly a no-no.
  • Motion Sickness tablets nowadays are incredibly useful and do work.
  • Motion Sickness patches or wrist bands are new and we have had clients wearing them and that too seems to help.

Feeling Sick while out at sea?

  • Drink as much water as possible.
  • Stay away from the motor fumes.
  • Train your eyes on the land from the vessel.
  • Rest or try to have a bit of a nap.
  • Keep hydrated and most importantly make sure you have a hat on and sunblock. Ironically this is usually when most clients get sunburnt while feeling ill.

Fortunately, the Ocean Commotion Fishing Charter vessel has a large cabin that is flushed with fresh air and shade. Your crew will make sure that you are taken care of.
